Braves country

Wow, I would like to not have waited this long between posts, but I have been absurdly busy. I have been working so much. I did get to take off a couple hours early from work last Monday (after putting in 6 hours on Easter Sunday from home, buh) to go to the Atlanta Braves home opener with my awesome boyfriend, Ben. Now, most of the time I couldn't care less about sports of any kind at all, but Braves baseball is completely different. I was absolutely bound and determined to attend the home opener of Bobby Cox's last season.

For anyone who doesn't know, Bobby Cox is the Braves' manager. He is one of the (if not the)
greatest managers in the history of the game. In a survey taken last season where MLB players voted for whom they would most like to work for (besides their own manager) Bobby was the overwhelming winner. But the best part about Bobby is that he holds the world record (by a long shot) of being kicked out of the most games (over 150 now) because he stands up for his players. Needless to say, there was a bit of a tribute at the beginning of the game and I'm not ashamed to say I teared up pretty hardcore.

Anyway, I have to say that this game was hands-down the best I have ever attended. Not only did we have the best seats I have ever sat in, but the Braves beat the pants off of the Cubs with an ending score of 16-5. Our newest outfielder (for whom they had to assemble nets during spring training because he kept hitting balls so far out of the park they were destroying cars) is a rookie, straight out of the minor leagues, and hit a three-run homer at his first major league at-bat. AMAZING.

Going to Braves games is my number one favorite thing about the warmer weather. I'd even venture to say it makes up for the pollen we've all been bathing in since Spring has sprung. So that was my first game of the season and it definitely won't be my last because I think it's going to be a really awesome season.

In other news, my in-office training for my job is winding down, so soon I'll be getting several precious hours of my weekly life back from the clutches of the torturous monster that is metro-Atlanta rush hour traffic. But before then, I think I have at least one more business-casual outfit post left in me :]
